Legal Advisor
Job Description:
Client: A subsidiary of a leading oil and gas exploration and production company.
Type of hiring: 1-3 years contract
Responsibilities:
Assist the Head of Legal in the review and negotiation of agreements/contracts.
Provide necessary support to the Head of Legal.
Assist the Legal Manager with various matters, including insurance, corporate secretarial, procurement technical clarification, procurement post-award issues, external relations, and investor relations as required.
Conduct risk assessments and assess the legal impact of business decisions related to Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs), Joint Operating Agreements (JOAs), and other upstream agreements.
Ensure that all agreements and contracts entered into by the company are negotiated on the most advantageous terms.
Oversee the placement of insurance policies for all operating and general insurance where necessary.
Manage external counsel, insurance brokers, underwriters, and corporate secretarial responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years experience (post admission to the Malaysian Bar).
Experienced in oil and gas industry.
Familiar with the Production Sharing Contracts, Joint Operating Agreements and upstream oil & gas operations agreements.
Must be analytical and able to work independently.
A team player, communications and leadership skills.
