- The role requires expertise in media theory, digital communication, and emerging media trends.
- The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of media production, journalism, corporate communication, or digital storytelling.

1) Learning and Teaching

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Development of a portfolio of activities supporting research and scholarship.
- Dissemination of research and scholarly output through relevant platforms.
- Supervision of honours and postgraduate (including doctoral) students.
- Contribution to research training activities within the Faculty.
- Development of research groups within the Faculty.
- Securing external support for research activities.
- Development of collaborative research networks.
- Undertaking research activities and achieving impact as expected at the appointed Academic Level B, as outlined in the “Guidelines for Expectations by Academic Levels” document.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

- A PhD in Media and Communication, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related discipline.
- Experience in teaching higher education in media studies or communication.
- A research track record in media theory, digital communication, or media technologies.
- Candidates with expertise in data visualization and news production (audio & video) are preferred.
- Undergraduate degree and/or equivalent qualifications and/or professional experience in a relevant field from a reputed institution. Often an honours degree or a three-year degree with postgraduate diploma.
- Professional qualification in a relevant field or those progressing towards it (if applicable).
- Registration with relevant professional bodies (if applicable).
- Master’s degree (preferably by research) / Doctoral degree (preferably by research) in a relevant field from a reputed institution.
- Excellent academic results from pre-university level onwards.
- Knowledge in relevant sub-areas or specialist areas.
- Research track record.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
