Job summary

Penang Skills Development Centre invites applications for a Lecturer in Mechatronics. The role involves delivering lectures, seminars and practical sessions, and developing teaching materials to support Mechatronics programmes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechatronics/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in higher education and use of IT in teaching.
• Preferable manufacturing industry exposure.
• Able to teach Technical Drawing, Robotics and Automation.
• Good command of English.

Responsibilities

1. Deliver Mechatronics and Related Programmes:

• Prepare and deliver high-quality lectures, seminars, and practical sessions related to Mechatronics and other relevant programs.
• Develop instructional materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, and assessment tools, to facilitate effective learning.

2. Academic Support:

• Provide academic guidance and support to students, including one-on-one consultations, mentoring, and assistance with coursework.
• Identify and address students' academic challenges and recommend appropriate interventions or resources.

3. Curriculum Review and Accreditation:

• Collaborate with the academic department to review and enhance the curriculum for Mechatronics programs.
• Participate in the accreditation process, ensuring program compliance with relevant standards and quality assurance guidelines

Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least a Degree in Mechatronic/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Experience working in a higher education environment including effective use of IT technologies in the facilitation of teaching and learning
• Preferable with working experience in the manufacturing industry
• Able to teach Technical Drawing, Robotics and Automation-related subjects
• Pleasant and mature personality with a good command of the English Language.
