This is an academic position involving teaching, research, and academic citizenship within a university marketing department. The role requires delivering high-quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, developing and leading research projects, and contributing to the academic governance and strategic development of the School.
Key responsibilities
Deliver high-quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, using innovative and inclusive pedagogies
Lead modules and contribute to undergraduate courses by preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials, seminars, and practical classes
Prepare, mark and moderate coursework and examinations
Develop and teach material both within and outside immediate research interests
Contribute to curriculum review and enhancement to ensure alignment with industry standards and accreditation requirements
Support student learning through academic advising, mentoring, and feedback
Develop and lead independent and collaborative research projects in priority areas of marketing
Publish high-quality research outputs in peer-reviewed journals
Apply for and secure internal and external research funding
Supervise and mentor undergraduate and postgraduate research students
About you
Ability to show flexibility and develop teaching material both within and outside immediate research interests
Capability to build research collaborations within the University and with industry partners, locally and internationally
Ability to engage with industry and professional bodies to enhance programme relevance and graduate employability
Capacity to contribute to academic governance and serve on relevant committees and working groups
Commitment to upholding and modelling the University's values, policies, and quality assurance standards
Data analytics capability - Demonstrated ability to teach marketing or business data analytics, with practical knowledge of analytical and statistical methods. Proficiency in using R and Python for data analysis, visualisation, statistical modelling or marketing-related applications.
Broad and specialist teaching capability - Broad knowledge of business and management, with the ability to teach subjects such as strategic management, international business and marketing.
Postgraduate teaching experience - Demonstrated experience in teaching and assessing postgraduate programmes, particularly at master’s level.
Doctoral supervision experience - A successful record of supervising at least one PhD candidate to completion.
