Job summary

Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) invites applications for a Lecturer who will also act as Programme Leader to support growth of postgraduate programmes. You will teach, supervise, and provide leadership across curriculum and assessment for postgraduate courses.

The role involves overseeing programme delivery, ensuring curriculum relevance, coordinating academic activities, and driving quality assurance across postgraduate studies at APU.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctorate in IT/CS, Cyber Security, Digital Forensics or Technology Management.
• Teaching experience in related IT subjects is preferred.
• Experience in higher education and use of IT in teaching and learning is desirable.

Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Lecturer who will also take on the role of Programme Leader to support the continued growth and development of our Postgraduate Programmes. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning, supporting postgraduate students throughout their academic journey, and providing effective leadership and oversight of the programme.

The successful candidate will work closely with Heads of School and academic colleagues to deliver postgraduate courses, develop and enhance curriculum content, provide academic guidance and supervision, contribute to research and scholarly activities, and lead programme-related activities. As Programme Leader, the candidate will oversee programme delivery, coordinate academic and administrative matters, monitor programme performance, and drive quality assurance, curriculum development and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

(i) Teaching and Student Engagement

The roles include teaching, setting assessments and examinations, marking, moderation and related academic and administrative tasks.

Conduct individual and/or collaborative research projects and proposals to produce scholarly and research outputs.

Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students, including students undertaking final-year projects, ensuring appropriate guidance and academic support.

Provide academic guidance and support to students, including monitoring student progression, academic welfare and learning experiences.

Participate in student recruitment and marketing activities, including programme promotion and engagement with prospective students and relevant stakeholders.

Lead and manage programme-related activities, ensuring the effective implementation of programme objectives, curriculum requirements and academic regulations.

Coordinate with Academic Leaders, Head of School and relevant academic/administrative teams on programme delivery, curriculum development, teaching, learning and assessment matters.

Chair and participate in Programme Committee meetings, follow up on programme-related issues and ensure appropriate feedback is communicated to students.

Monitor and review programme performance, assessment outcomes and examiner/moderation feedback, recommending appropriate corrective actions and improvements where necessary.

Support and lead programme reviews, validations and curriculum amendments, ensuring compliance with relevant quality assurance requirements and regulatory standards.

Ensure students are provided with accurate programme, assessment and progression information throughout their studies.

Oversee the coordination and assessment of Final-Year Projects, including project proposals, staff allocation, assessment consistency and review of final marks.

Prepare and submit programme-related reports, including responses to examiner feedback, programme monitoring reports and recommendations for continuous improvement.

Requirements:

Candidates must possess a minimum of a Master's qualification or Doctorate in their areas of expertise such as Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security / Digital Forensics, Technology Management or equivalent.

Possess teaching experience in the above related subjects will have added advantage.

Experience working in higher education environment including effective use of IT technologies in the facilitation of teaching and learning.
