We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Lecturer in Early Childhood Education (ECE) to join our growing academic team at the School of Education. This role offers an exciting opportunity to inspire and develop future early years professionals through both face-to-face and online teaching platforms (ODL). The ability to teach Montessori methods and special needs education is an advantage to this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and student-centered lectures, tutorials, and practical workshops in Early Childhood Education through both in-person and Online Distance Learning (ODL) platforms.
- Supervise and assess student practicum placements, providing constructive feedback and mentorship.
- Participate in the design, review, and enhancement of curriculum materials and academic programmes.
- Engage in scholarly and professional development activities, including research, publications, and conference presentations.
- Contribute to community outreach and industry collaboration initiatives within the field of ECE.
- Ensure timely and effective communication with students in both physical and virtual learning environments.
Requirements
- A Master’s Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Education, or a closely related field.
- At least 2 years of relevant teaching and/or industry experience in ECE settings.
- Knowledge and practical experience in Montessori education and/or inclusive practices is an added advantage.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Competence and confidence in using digital tools and platforms to support ODL teaching and learning.
- Passion for teaching, mentoring, and shaping future educators.
- Experience in higher education or adult learning environments.
- Familiarity with a variety of pedagogical approaches, including play-based and inquiry-based learning.
- Active engagement in professional ECE networks, forums, or research communities.
- Ability to incorporate creative and flexible teaching strategies to support diverse learners.
