Job summary

Smith+Nebhew is offering an internship in Learning and Development, Intern Life Unlimited, targeted at undergraduates in Science, Engineering, IT, or related fields. Based in Batu Kawan, Penang, the program provides hands-on projects to develop skills and future employment prospects within the medical device industry.

Successful candidates will gain experience coordinating training programs, designing training materials with SMEs, and implementing automation using Power Automate and Power BI.

Qualifications

• Open to students pursing a degree in Science, Engineering, IT, or related field.
• CGPA of 3.5 or above preferred.
• Based in Batu Kawan, Penang; internship experience is a plus.
• Strong planning, organizational, and multitasking abilities; basic Power Automate and Power BI knowledge.
• Excellent communication and teamwork; proactive attitude and ability to work independently.

Job description

Learning and Development, Intern Life Unlimited. At Smith+Nebhew we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living. This role is part of the Intern Program and is designed to attract top-performing undergraduate students studying (Majors) or related disciplines. It provides interns with projects that contribute to Smith+Nebhew’s goals while supporting their career development. The program offers meaningful work experiences, along with team-building events and social activities when available. Successful candidates will gain valuable experience in the medical device industry, which can help shape career decisions and create future employment opportunities.

What will you be doing?

Program Coordination

Supports the implementation and management of employee training programs by coordinating schedules, managing communication with trainers and trainees, and handling logistical arrangements. Assists in tracking program progress and preparing regular reports to ensure smooth program execution.

Trainer and Content Development

Collaborates with subject matter experts and trainers to design and develop training materials. Ensures that content is clear, engaging, and aligned with company standards to maximize learning effectiveness.

Process Automation

Explores and implements automation solutions using tools such as Power Automate and Power BI. Creates dashboards and reports to streamline data visualization and support decision-making. Identifies opportunities for process improvement and recommends innovative solutions.

What will you need to be successful?

• This internship is open to students currently pursuing a degree in Science, Engineering, IT, or a related field, with a preferred CGPA of 3.5 or above.
• The position is based in Batu Kawan, Penang, and previous intern, part-time, or apprenticeship experience is considered an advantage.
• Candidates should demonstrate strong planning, organizational, and multitasking skills, along with basic knowledge of Power Automate and Power BI.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, enthusiasm for learning, and a proactive attitude are essential.
• The role requires independent thinking, the ability to work collaboratively, and strong time management skills to handle tight deadlines, multiple tasks, assignment changes, and periods of heavy workload.
