Job description

As a Learning & Development Executive, you will play a key role in strengthening the hotel’s culture of learning and continuous improvement. You will support the design, coordination, and implementation of learning and development initiatives that elevate colleague capability, drive performance, and ensure the hotel delivers on IHG’s promise of True Hospitality.

In this role, you’ll go beyond administrative tasks to actively contribute to the planning, facilitation, and evaluation of training activities across the hotel. You will ensure all training programs are aligned with IHG brand standards, business goals, and compliance requirements, while also nurturing a high-performance, engaged workforce.

Your Day To Day Training Coordination & Facilitation

  • Assist in the design, scheduling, and execution of core training programs including onboarding, brand orientation, leadership development, and functional upskilling.
  • Co-facilitate selected training sessions, workshops, and colleague development activities, ensuring a professional and engaging learning environment.
  • Ensure all learning activities are conducted in line with IHG guidelines, safety standards, and local laws.
  • Coordinate logistics such as venue setup, attendance tracking, learning materials preparation, food & beverage requests (BEO), and post-training follow-up.

Learning Systems & Records Management

  • Administer the IHG Learning Platform (MyLearning), including updating records, assigning training, and reporting completion rates.
  • Monitor compliance training progress across departments and follow up with leadership teams to ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain accurate and secure training records, feedback forms, and evaluation reports in accordance with audit and brand standards.
  • Generate and share regular training dashboards and reports to HR and departmental leaders.

Colleague Engagement & Support

  • Act as a key learning contact for all colleagues, providing guidance on career development tools, learning pathways, and training programs available.
  • Support the implementation of recognition programs, Learning Coach engagement, cross-exposure training, and colleague experience initiatives.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of hotel-wide activities such as General Sessions, school collaboration programs, and internal learning campaigns.
  • Work closely with Department Heads, Learning Coaches, and Supervisors to understand business learning needs and provide relevant L&D support.
  • Support the grooming and service culture standards of the hotel and ensure consistency across departments.
  • Liaise with external training providers and regulatory bodies when required for certifications or external training activities.
  • Contribute to the ongoing review of training effectiveness and recommend improvements or innovations based on feedback and business needs.

General Responsibilities

  • Handle sensitive colleague matters with professionalism, confidentiality, and care.
  • Provide administrative support to the wider Human Resources team when required, including recruitment events, communications, and data tracking.
  • Support ad-hoc L&D and HR projects as assigned by the Learning & Development Manager or HR Leadership.

What We Need From You

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in learning & development or human resources, preferably in a hospitality or service-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with digital learning platforms, LMS systems, and virtual learning tools.
  • Strong facilitation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and able to create clear presentations and reports.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities with a calm, proactive approach.
  • Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia; additional languages are a plus.
