Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Lean Manufacturing Engineer located in Bukit Mertajam. The Lean Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for the implementation and management of lean manufacturing projects, identifying process inefficiencies, and developing strategies to improve production flow. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing production processes, training staff on lean principles, monitoring project progress, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Process Improvement, and Quality Control
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Project Management and Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
  • Ability to lead and manage team projects effectively
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry, particularly in CNC machining, is a plus

Requirements

  • Monitor and continuously improve daily quality and efficiency performance in assigned areas.
  • Design and procure production tooling, processing equipment, and workstations.
  • Coordinate layout planning and workstation relocation activities.
  • Prepare time estimates for proposed projects and evaluate related time factors.
  • Reduce machine-generated scrap by analyzing machine management data and implementing corrective actions.
  • Minimize manual assembly scrap by reviewing quality data and initiating necessary corrective measures.
  • Analyze workforce utilization, facility layout, and operational data—including production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules—to optimize the use of labor and equipment.
  • Comply with all safety and health regulations, and follow instructions provided by the supervisor.
  • Adhere to all company security procedures and policies.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
