Summary

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

• Responsible for thermal test validation of IT equipment including server/storage/switch products.
• Set up thermal test environment and execute thermal tests including wind-tunnel tests and temperature tests.
• Work with other functional teams to resolve thermal relevant issues.
• Document comprehensive thermal test plans and reports.
• B.S. or above in Thermal Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in thermal design & test validation of electronic products; server/storage/switch product experience is preferred.
• Familiar with thermal measurement technology and tools such as temperature data loggers, IR cameras, wind-tunnels, etc.
• Familiar with fluid dynamics and heat transfer knowledge.
• Familiar with thermal parts including heat sinks, TIM, air movers, etc.
• Hands-on experience on validation tests of various fan speed control algorithms and over-temperature protection mechanisms.
• Good skills in thermal test data analysis and reporting.

Physical Demands

• Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
• Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
• Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Typical Experience

• 1 to 3 years of related experience in similar job roles.

Typical Education

• Bachelor's Degree.
