Job summary

Great Eastern seeks a Lead Software Engineer in the Channel and Data AI team to design, develop and support scalable web and mobile solutions. You will lead microservices, modern architectures, and cloud-native deployments, while championing secure coding and test-driven development.

You will mentor developers, drive GenAI-enabled productivity, manage dependencies, and partner with technology, security, and business teams to deliver resilient digital experiences and robust customer engagement.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in web and mobile application development.
• Strong expertise in React Native, React.js, Next.js, Spring Boot.
• Experience with Agile/DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and enterprise-scale delivery.
• Passion for emerging technologies, including AI/GenAI, with a continuous learning mindset.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, deployment, and support of scalable web and mobile applications using modern architectures, APIs, and cloud-native technologies.
• Drive technical solutioning, architecture design, and implementation of microservices, micro frontend, and event-driven solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions, manage dependencies, and ensure successful project outcomes.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and champion engineering best practices, including test-driven development, code quality, and application security.
• Support application lifecycle management, including releases, app store deployments, third-party integrations, and ongoing enhancements.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor developers, and promote the adoption of emerging technologies, including GenAI, to improve productivity and innovation.
• Manage technical risks, troubleshoot complex issues, and provide Level 3 support to ensure application stability and performance.
• Partner with stakeholders across technology, security, compliance, and business teams to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient digital solutions.
• Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
• Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
• Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.

We are looking for people who

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in web and mobile application development
• Strong technical expertise in React Native, React.js, Next.js, Spring Boot, and modern application architecture.
• Experience with Agile/DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and enterprise-scale application delivery.
• Passion for emerging technologies, including AI/GenAI, with a continuous learning mindset.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and leadership capabilities.
