Job summary

Sandisk Malaysia seeks an experienced Automation Engineer to drive hardware‑based automation projects for high‑volume NAND flash production. You will design, develop, and deploy equipment automation solutions, leading cross‑functional teams and coordinating vendor interactions to ensure safe, reliable, and scalable implementations.

The role requires hands‑on experience with SECS/GEM, E84, and AMHS, plus strong PLC and robotics familiarity.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.
Approximately 5 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing or factory automation.
Strong understanding of equipment automation, sensors, actuators, PLCs, and robotics.
Hands-on experience with SECS/GEM, E84, and equipment integration standards.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement hardware-based automation solutions to improve manufacturing efficiency.
Lead automation projects end-to-end from requirement gathering to production release.
Integrate new tools into existing factory automation infrastructure with safety and throughput focus.
Collaborate with equipment, process, IT, and manufacturing teams to translate needs into specs.
Manage hardware upgrades, retrofits, and automation enhancements for production equipment.
