Summary

We are seeking a Lead Research Analyst to research and analyze risk in due diligence activities. The successful candidate will have experience or exposure to compliance or international business, such as conducting enhanced due diligence, and will be expected to have strong research and writing skills. This individual will contribute regional market knowledge and local language skills to our growing global department and company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct media and internet searches on companies and individuals in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
  • Investigate official sources (registrars, regulators, courts, etc.) for information on companies and individuals.
  • Work with external vendors for verification and reporting.
  • Analyze collected information for reputational, financial, and integrity risks (sanctions, corruption, bribery, money laundering, terrorism financing, regulatory violations, etc.).
  • Prepare comprehensive reports in English and Bahasa Indonesia, following our internal research methodology and style guide, meeting client-specific requirements, and delivering on time.
  • Collaborate with report/case team members, external vendors, and case managers to ensure reports meet client needs.

Qualifications/Skills

  • College/university degree.
  • Proficiency in English and Bahasa Indonesia; additional Southeast Asian languages are a plus.
  • Experience in compliance, due diligence, AML/KYC, or third-party risk management.
  • Excellent written and critical thinking skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong research skills, including familiarity with corporate registries, litigation, bankruptcy, ESG, government filings, and media sources.
  • Editing and proofreading skills; research/editorial experience is advantageous.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects.
  • Proactive, ownership-driven, and team-oriented mindset.
  • Interest in current international news and affairs.
