About The Role

Working as part of a small team you will be responsible for the product performance. You will be working alongside the design engineering and other functional teams to establish in depth understanding, identify key factors and optimize product performance to ensure that our technologies are up to meeting their ambitious targets. You will use a mixture of simulation, test and engineering judgement to solve the problems that arise as we develop our technologies and products. You will require to work alongside your UK counterparts to get in touch with state of art technologies, picking the projects up from an early design stage and take them through to production.

  • Able to establish an excellent understanding of the product requirements and deliver top-level product performance metrics on a full product complexity project with multiple attachments.
  • Resolve complex problems either through established approaches or by defining new ones. Develop a good understanding of failure mechanisms, identify potential underlying root causes with appropriate methodology, and design experiments to foolproof the solutions.
  • Able to assess multiple viewpoints independently and determine the technical direction for projects or specialist areas. Requires excellent system thinking to optimize and balance product performance, creating a user-centric product.
  • Plan and prioritize tasks to drive coherent requirement definitions, ensuring consistent development of performance throughout the product development.
  • Drive data analysis, ensure robust test methodology, and provide conclusive proposals for timely delivery of solutions and verification reports.
  • Actively inform all stakeholders about the progress and status of allocated projects.
  • Provide technical leadership and partner with teammates to increase efficiency in the development process. Have continuous improvement mindset and actively help the team improve/lean current process.

About you

  • Master in Mechanical Engineering (other relevant discipline will be considered)
  • Broad knowledge of applied physics, design engineering, particle science, fluid dynamics and numerical analysis.
  • Have experience on using analytical tools for problem solving and product performance optimization.
  • Competent in the use and application of CAD tools in general.
  • Experience in system engineering processes and able to demonstrate system breakdown analysis.
  • Able to write unambiguous product requirements and test method.
  • Ability to work in a high demand, fast-paced environment, able to manage stakeholder expectation and has critical thinking all times.
  • A clear, logical thinker with attention to detail and an appreciation for engineering fundamentals and critical analysis.
  • Have strong sense of project ownership and take up the responsibility to lead and provide clear direction to ease the decision making from stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate strong written & verbal communication skills. Able to clearly, concisely & confidently present & articulate ideas to larger cross-category groups from a variety of areas, often with Management attendees. Proficient in clear, concise communication of ideas & concepts, frequently tailoring communication to suit different levels.
