Get to Know the Role
As a Lead Product Designer on the Omnicommerce team, you will advance product design quality in Dine In and Loyalty experiences for the Grab consumer super app and enterprise/merchant facing interfaces. You will work in a highly collaborative fashion, exploring the needs of our users and creating impactful solutions for the business. You will report to Design Manager II, Omnicommerce & Logistics and work onsite at Grab Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia office.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- Build solutions that prioritize value, usability, feasibility, and viability, while managing trade-offs and minimizing waste.
- Justify design choices and persuasively communicate with senior stakeholders.
- Foster collaboration across domains and teams, enhancing alignment and efficiency through discussions and workshops.
- Lead problem exploration, solution discovery, and delivery with autonomy, navigating complexity independently.
- Enhance team performance by supporting adjacent designers in improving their work.
- Develop innovative problem-framing approaches to create new solutions beyond mere execution.
- Work closely with design research operations to validate design assumptions.
- Design simple solutions for complex problems, integrating multiple products to unlock new value.
- Create visual designs that improve user experience quality and consistency.
- Utilize prototyping tools to develop interactive and realistic prototypes with complex functionality.
What Essential Skills You Will Need
- [Must-have] Your application should attach a design portfolio in English with at least 2 completed case studies, demonstrating design process, shipped work and impact with a strong sense of design. Evidence of exceptional design ability is a must.
- From 6+ years of product design experience, particularly in consumer design.
- An excellent portfolio
- Ability to craft strong design presentations and storytelling by keeping our users in mind.
- A strong track record of iterative design, working closely with product tech and business partners from inception through implementation.
- Excellent fundamentals in interaction and visual design craft and practice.
- Experience coaching others in interaction design, visual design or prototyping.
- Excellent knowledge of mobile and front-end web standards and development.
- Must be proficient and experienced in Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator and other design tools.
