ROLE PURPOSE
You are responsible for delivering your assigned project scope and technical solution in accordance with management systems, standards, and client requirements. You will coordinate a team of Engineers and Designers to deliver cost-effective, competitive solutions that maximize client value, ensuring project execution aligns with schedule, budget, and quality standards. You are accountable to the respective area EPM and overall EPM for the discipline scope performance.
ROLE CONTRIBUTION
To ensure proper project planning, YOU ARE TO:
1. Define and develop the discipline scope by understanding project requirements.
2. Identify dependencies and align with stakeholders to ensure safety and quality are maintained.
3. Collaborate with the Discipline Manager and Engineering Project Manager to forecast manhours, resources, and completion dates.
4. Set team expectations for quality and enforce safety requirements, measuring effectiveness through productivity, understanding of design impact, cost of non-quality, and feedback from management.
To effectively lead an engineering team, YOU ARE TO:
1. Understand project requirements and assign tasks appropriately.
2. Ensure team members understand their roles.
3. Provide coaching and guidance; partner with Discipline Manager for mentoring.
4. Address performance issues proactively and seek continuous improvement.
5. Promote a positive work environment to maintain high employee engagement.
6. Incorporate lessons learned to minimize impacts of changes and share new lessons learned for future projects.
Measures of effectiveness include stakeholder feedback, timely delivery of outputs, and support for staff development.
To manage interfaces effectively and handle changes, YOU ARE TO:
1. Communicate promptly with internal and external clients.
2. Track potential changes to reduce surprises, costs, and delays.
3. Document deviations to adjust forecasts and schedules.
4. Coordinate with other Discipline Lead Engineers.
5. Monitor interfaces with Class Society and Clients, ensuring requirements are addressed.
6. Manage interfaces with Vendors, Subcontractors, and third-party consultants, ensuring timely review of documents.
Measures of effectiveness include effective interdisciplinary interfaces and timely resolution of interface issues.
