Job summary

Malakoff Corporation seeks a seasoned Lead, Instrument and Control for the LSS5+ Solar PV project in Perak. You will lead and coordinate instrumentation, control and monitoring systems, ensuring proper integration, reliable plant operation and adherence to project specifications and standards.

You will oversee design reviews, testing, commissioning and cybersecurity compliance, working with EPC contractors and suppliers to resolve technical issues and keep the project on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in instrumentation, control systems, SCADA or industrial automation projects.
• Experience in utility-scale solar PV, power generation or other power infrastructure projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, installation, testing and commissioning of instrumentation, control and monitoring systems for the solar PV project.
• Coordinate integration of SCADA, plant monitoring, data acquisition, inverters and weather monitoring equipment.
• Review designs and specs to ensure compliance with project requirements and standards.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors, equipment suppliers and stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
• Monitor installation progress, contractor performance and project schedules.

JOB DESCRIPTION

1. JOB PURPOSE

To lead and coordinate the instrumentation, control and monitoring systems for the LSS5+ Solar PV Project, ensuring proper system integration, reliable plant operation and compliance with project specifications, applicable standards and regulatory requirements.

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the planning, design, installation, testing and commissioning of instrumentation, control and monitoring systems for the solar PV project.
• Coordinate the integration of SCADA, plant monitoring systems, data acquisition systems, inverters, weather monitoring equipment and other relevant control systems.
• Review engineering designs, technical specifications, drawings and contractor submissions to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate with engineering consultants, EPC contractors, equipment suppliers and relevant stakeholders to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth project execution.
• Monitor installation progress, contractor performance, project schedules and quality of work.
• Oversee system testing, commissioning and integration to ensure reliable communication, monitoring and control of plant equipment.
• Ensure compliance with applicable technical standards, project specifications, cybersecurity requirements and HSE procedures.
• Prepare technical reports and provide progress updates to project management.

3. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Electronic Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in instrumentation, control systems, SCADA or industrial automation projects.
• Experience in utility scale solar PV, power generation or other power infrastructure projects will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of SCADA, PLC, communication networks, plant monitoring systems and control system integration.
• Experience in system testing, commissioning and coordination with EPC contractors and equipment suppliers.

4. KEY COMPETENCIES
