Job summary

Ramboll Malaysia is seeking a Senior Environmental Sustainable Design Engineer to lead the development and delivery of high-performance, low-carbon buildings in Kuala Lumpur. You will drive strategic growth and client engagement across Malaysia and the APAC region, mentoring teams and shaping sustainable design direction.

You will provide technical leadership on energy modelling, passive and active design, and certification strategies (GBI, GreenRE, LEED), collaborating with architects,

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in sustainable design, environmental engineering, ESD consultancy, or building performance analysis.
• Experience in the Malaysian construction industry and regional projects is advantageous.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: develop plans and growth goals for Ramboll’s ESD business in Malaysia; mentor junior engineers; manage project revenue and budgets; promote digital workflows and data-driven design; collaborate across APAC Buildings teams.
• Business Development and Client Networking: grow Ramboll’s network with developers, architects, government agencies, and industry partners; pursue new opportunities; lead bid submissions and client presentations; represent Ramboll at events.
• Technical Excellence and Sustainable Design Delivery: provide technical leadership for ESD projects; lead high-performance building strategies; guide energy modelling, daylight and environmental simulations; ensure integration with MEP and feasibility for clients.
