Job description

Mechanical Rotating Equipment Engineer

Responsible for the design and selection of mechanical rotating equipment such as process gas compressors, screw compressor packages, reciprocating compressors, gas turbines, sea water injection pumps, etc., in compliance with industry codes, standards, classification society rules, and relevant regulations. Oversees various engineering phases including feasibility studies, FEED, and detailed engineering for offshore and FPSO projects.

Plans and directs technical specifications, standards, and requisitions for engineering teams. Ensures all technical requirements are incorporated into deliverables, reviewing and validating them with the section head, project management team, and clients.

Evaluates technical aspects of supplier bids and conducts assessments, especially for complex packages or high-risk equipment. Assists in placing and executing orders, reviewing supplier documents such as data sheets and drawings for accuracy and compliance. Acts as the focal point, liaising with stakeholders.

Manages the mechanical project team, ensuring quality and timely delivery of project outputs. Provides technical support, site visits, and advice during fabrication, construction, and commissioning phases.

Resolves technical issues during engineering, fabrication, and post-delivery using expert knowledge. Ensures compliance with HSSEQ policies, laws, regulations, and maintains high ethical standards.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience in the oil and gas sector, preferably with FPSO and offshore applications
  • Experience working on EPC projects
  • Knowledge of design standards and international industry codes such as ASME, API, etc.
