Fuku is a 100% remote AI/ML native start-up focused on enterprise pharmaceutical clients, with a Singapore headquarters. We are seeking a senior Lead Engineer to join the Malaysian team and report to the CTO.

Key Responsibilities

• 70% hands-on technical engineering using Node.js, Python, and JavaScript (must have a passion for coding)
• 30% leadership of a small internal team (Data, A.I, Developers) and management of two external vendors
• Involved in requirement gathering, architectural design, building, and deploying scalable, enterprise-ready cloud solutions
• Take ideas and new features from concept to production, ensuring proper documentation, code refactoring (or rewriting), and clearing existing backlog
• Create intuitive, responsive user interfaces
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain systems on AWS, Azure, or GCP

Must-Have Skills & Experience

• Proficiency in Node.js and modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Next, Vue, Angular)
• Strong Python skills, particularly in data engineering
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization/orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Previous experience in a scale-up or start-up environment, with the ability to work remotely and independently
• Bonus: Experience with machine learning and A.I technologies

About the Team & Company Structure

• Report directly to the CTO and Co-Founder; you will be the most senior engineer in the team
• Expected to have 8-12 years of relevant experience
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and data teams to deliver impactful solutions
• Co-founder is based in Malaysia; CTO (consultant) is based in Singapore

• Demonstrate start-up grit and adaptability; able to thrive in a fast-growing business with high customer expectations and tight timelines
• Passionate about expanding technical knowledge in the rapidly evolving ML and A.I space, with a willingness to learn on the job
• Comfortable switching between hands-on engineering, supporting junior engineers, managing vendors, and responding to client requests
