Summary

The Lead Engineer, Hardware Design works with cross functional teams with other designers, customers, manufacturing engineering and project leadership to ensure robust and high quality product development. Enhance designs with feedback from reviews in areas such as manufacturing, test, supply chain, reliability, industrial design and simulations. Provide support throughout the manufacturing process of the electrical/mechanical system that they have designed.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Responsible for thermal test validation of IT equipments including server/storage/switch product.
  • Set-up thermal test environment and execute the thermal test including wind-tunnel test and temperature test.
  • Work with other function team to resolve thermal relevant issues.
  • Document comprehensive thermal test plan and report.
  • B.S. or above in Thermal Engineering or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in thermal design & test validation of electronic product, Server/storage/switch product experience is preferred.
  • Familiar with thermal measurement technology and tools such as temperature data logger, IR camera, wind-tunnel and etc.
  • Familiar with fluid dynamic and heat transfer knowledge
  • Familiar with Thermal parts including Heat sink, TIM, air movers, etc.
  • Hands on experience on validation test of various fan speed control algorithm and over temperature protection mechanism
  • Good skills in thermal test data analysis and report
Physical Demands
  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
