About the role

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, this is an exciting opportunity for a Lead Electrical Engineer to join the team at Black & Veatch Engineering Malaysia Sdn Bhd in Miri, Sarawak. This is a contract position responsible for the electrical engineering aspects of projects across the energy and infrastructure sectors.

What you'll be doing

1. Lead a team of electrical engineers and technicians to deliver project design and engineering solutions that meet client requirements and industry standards
2. Oversee the preparation of electrical designs, drawings, and specifications to support project delivery
3. Ensure projects comply with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards
4. Conduct site inspections and provide technical guidance to the construction team
5. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electrical systems with overall project requirements
6. Identify and mitigate electrical engineering risks throughout the project lifecycle
7. Provide mentorship and support to more junior members of the engineering team

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 10 years' experience as a Lead Electrical Engineer in the energy or infrastructure sectors
• Proven track record of leading electrical engineering teams to deliver complex projects
• Extensive knowledge of electrical design, codes, and industry standards
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Proficient in the use of engineering design software and project management tools
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
