The SK318 Development Project involves developing the Rosmari and Marjoram gas fields located at SK318 PSC Block in Sarawak Water. It includes the design, construction, and commissioning of a multi-billion USD sour gas facility to deliver gas to the Malaysia LNG gas complex. The project has completed the FEED and Detailed Design phases and is entering the Fabrication stage for the EPC (RMP) and EPCC (OGP) contractors. The selected concepts include two subsea wells and two dry tree wells tied back to the RMP topside. Gas will be exported to an onshore gas plant (OGP) for sour gas treatment before export to customers at Bintulu hub.

What’s the role?

To support the Lead Commissioning Engineer (LCE) in managing the Electrical discipline CSU team within the OGP project, executing pre-commissioning, commissioning activities, and initial startup/performance testing of the new facilities at the Onshore Gas Plant (OGP). This includes HSSE leadership, interface management, and coordinating the handover of all electrical systems to the completion team for final compilation before handing over to Sarawak Operations/Maintenance as per the Acceptance Criteria.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Provide leadership and guidance to the CSU Electrical discipline commissioning site team, implementing safety standards.
• Lead the CSU Electrical team in pre-commissioning and commissioning of electrical systems, including loop checks, HV and LV testing, motor solo run tests, generator commissioning, switchgear, transformers, MCCs, UPS, VSDs, lighting, HVAC, and other electrical systems.
• Ensure all electrical equipment and protection systems are tested as per SAT, ITR B, and CTP requirements.
• Ensure SCE equipment and performance standards are properly documented in ITR-B and CTP.
• Support the LCE in maintaining an up-to-date CSU spare parts list.
• Manage the responsibility of electrical system ownership, testing progress, and schedule alignment.
• Oversee pre-commissioning of OSBL electrical scopes at MLNG/BAGSF.
• Act as acting LCE if required.
• Supervise punch list completion and sign-off.
• Ensure all commissioning markings are captured for as-built documentation.
• Coordinate daily site activities and communication among electrical teams, construction, operations, and other disciplines, ensuring safety procedures are followed.
• Represent the project during Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) at vendor sites.
• Ensure proper updating of as-built drawings and documentation upon project completion.
• Participate in HAZID/HAZOP, PDMS, SUOP, and CSU Scenario workshops.
• Attend SIMOPS and safety interface meetings with contractors and operations teams.
• Assist the LCE in preparing for Start-up on Paper (SUOP) and CSU What If Scenario Workshops.
