Job summary

UOB in Kuala Lumpur is looking for a Lead DLP Cybersecurity Specialist to enhance data protection efforts. This role will involve designing DLP policies in compliance with regulations while leading the DLP monitoring team. You will ensure the security of customer financial data and provide guidance for continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in cybersecurity and strong knowledge of data classification standards. Ambition and leadership skills are essential for this position.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in cybersecurity, with 2+ years in DLP or data protection.
  • Deep understanding of banking regulations and data classification.
  • Preferred certifications: CISSP, CISM, CISA, or CRISC.

About The Department

UOB Innovation Hub 2 (InnoHub2) is a UOB-wholly owned subsidiary and a Centre of Excellence based in Malaysia, providing Group Business Services (GBS) to support the UOB Group. Started in 2021 with technology application design, development and support, InnoHub2 is expanding beyond technology services to deliver other business services to support the Bank’s growth ambition. Job Responsibilities
  • Lead the DLP monitoring function to ensure protection of sensitive financial and customer data.
  • Design and enforce DLP policies aligned with banking regulations (e.g., PCI DSS, PDPA, GDPR).
  • Oversee incident response for data leakage involving customer PII, financial records, or insider threats.
  • Coordinate with Compliance, Risk, Legal, and IT Security teams on investigations and audits.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and recommend enhancements to DLP strategy and tooling and automation integration.
  • Report DLP metrics and incidents to senior management and regulatory bodies as required.
  • Mentor and guide the DLP monitoring team, ensuring continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Job Requirements
  • 5+ years in cybersecurity, with 2+ years in DLP or data protection in financial institutions.
  • Deep understanding of banking regulations and data classification standards.
  • Experience with enterprise DLP platforms (e.g., McAfee, Microsoft Purview, Forcepoint).
  • Familiarity with insider threat detection, endpoint protection, and SIEM integration.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Preferred certifications: CISSP, CISM, CISA, or CRISC.
