The Role:
  • Provide advanced technical support (Level 3) for Database platforms, managing Oracle (Primary), MS SQL (Primary), MySQL (Secondary), and DB2 (Secondary) databases.
  • Supervise a team of skilled Database Administrators in a dynamic enterprise environment.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members.
  • Assess, migrate, or upgrade Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, and DB2 databases.
  • Ensure adherence to service request, incident, change, release, and patch management processes.
  • Respond to critical alerts from the Broadcom CA Unified Infrastructure Management platform.
  • Oversee daily database maintenance, patching, hardening, and service requests.
  • Participate in Major Incident responses, directing recovery efforts.
  • Manage database health checks and troubleshooting activities.
  • Coordinate work schedules, including support rotations and on-call duties.
  • Prepare Root Cause Analysis reports for critical incidents.
  • Monitor ticket queues to ensure timely resolution within SLAs.
  • Plan and execute disaster recovery and maintenance activities.
  • Provide weekly and monthly capacity and risk reports.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews based on KPIs.
  • Assist in audit preparations and address findings.
  • Propose process improvements to enhance team productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with business and regulatory standards, managing risks proactively.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, threats, and technologies.
  • Identify potential risks and share best practices.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as needed.
The Person:
  • Degree in Information Technology or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in Oracle and Microsoft database administration.
  • Possession of Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) preferred.
  • High integrity, accountability, and positive attitude.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and eager to improve.
