Job summary

Grab, Southeast Asia's leading super-app, is seeking a Lead Specialist for Data Scientist (Analytics) to own the data lifecycle, shape product innovation, and spearhead Generative AI initiatives at GXBank.

You will collaborate with product, design, and engineering to derive insights, design experiments, and drive product decisions, while building scalable self-serve analytics for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Analytics, Economics, Mathematics, or related fields.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in Analytics, BI, or Data Science in a Bank or Tech company.
• Proficient in writing advanced SQL queries and Python for large relational databases.
• Experience with data visualization platforms like Tableau or HTML to present findings.
• Strong ability to translate data insights into recommendations for non-technical and senior stakeholders.
• Experience designing, running, and analysing A/B tests and with basic Design of Experiments (DoE).

Responsibilities

• Partner with product, design, and engineering teams to derive insights, design experiments, and drive key product decisions.
• Support strategic plans with data insights, performing deep-dives into user behavior, segmented views and product efficacy.
• Provide tailored analysis for specific products and strategies, define critical business and product metrics, and make regular recommendations for continuous improvements.
• Design, measure, and recommend A/B tests and multivariate experiments, including layout optimisation, UI/UX efficacy, algorithm effectiveness, and API performance.
• Analyse clickstream and transactional data to uncover insights on user behaviour and drive product metrics. You will manage instrumentation for all feature releases within assigned tech families within the bank.
• Develop self-serve solutions for stakeholders that are scalable and automated to handle a product environment.
• Drive plans involving Large Language Models or Generative Artificial Intelligence

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• Minimum 7 years of experience in Analytics, Business Intelligence, or Data Science in a Bank or Tech (FinTech or E-Commerce) company.
• Proficient in writing advanced SQL queries, Python and querying large relational databases.
• Experience with data visualisation platforms like Tableau or HTML to present findings.
• Strong experience in translating data insights into relevant recommendations for non-technical and senior team members.
• Experience in designing, running, and analysing A/B tests and product experiments, with knowledge of hypothesis testing and the basic principles of Design of Experiments (DoE).
