Job description

With multiple awards to our name, Larian Studios has proven that we’re dedicated to delivering high-quality role-playing games. As we move on to new projects, the studio that brought you Baldur’s Gate 3 & Divinity: Original Sin 2 is looking for a Lead Concept Artist to join the team and help us in crafting the high caliber games our fans have come to expect.

Responsibilities
  • Designing characters, creatures, and environments to align with the game's artistic direction.
  • Collaborating with the Art Director(s) to define and implement the visual style of the game.
  • Conducting research and suggesting concept references under the guidance of the Art Director(s).
  • Develop and deliver art briefings to the Concept Art team, in collaboration with the Art Director(s) guidance.
  • Leading the Concept Art team by providing mentorship and constructive feedback to other artists.
  • Working closely with leads and team members from various departments to ensure the conceptual vision transitions smoothly into the final gameplay.
  • Partnering with 3D asset, environment, and character teams to support their design processes and solve visual challenges that arise during production.
  • Overseeing the talent management process and playing a key role in the career development of team members.
Requirements
  • A strong understanding of art and design fundamentals, with the ability to easily identify fundamental errors and provide effective solutions for them.
  • A solid understanding of the game development process, with the ability to provide relevant and timely feedback and solutions throughout the development stages.
  • Has led or managed mid to large size art teams simultaneously.
  • Is highly digitally literate and adapts quickly to new software and tools (G Suite, Confluence, Jira etc.).
  • An effective collaborator with excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in an agile environment with changing demands.
  • This is a full-time, on-site role, requiring your presence in the office to support collaboration and creativity.
Nice to haves
  • Has worked on or contributed to shipping fantasy-themed game titles.
  • Is familiar with Larian’s games and able to replicate our unique style.
  • Has experience working with 3D software (Blender, Maya, Zbrush, 3D Coat etc.).
