Qualifications

Lead Agent - Ocean Export Customer Service

Responsibilities
  1. Ensure smooth and timely freight process flow.
  2. Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our operating system.
  3. Track and trace shipments as required.
  4. Utilize Process Monitors and Workflows daily.
  5. Ensure timely movement and delivery of freight to customers.
  6. Ensure documents are timely sent to customers or brokers for customs purposes.
  7. Ensure accurate and timely client invoicing.
  8. Interact with our customers to arrange shipments, exceeding customer service expectations.
  9. Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors (ocean carriers, trucking companies, etc.).
  10. Evaluate vendors periodically per company policy, focusing on improvement areas with corrective actions where needed.
  11. Collaborate with sales, customer retention, development, and account management to maintain and develop relationships and acquire new customers.
  12. Obtain updated rates and sailing schedules from carriers and co-loaders; share with customers as needed.
  13. Respond promptly to RFPs, quotations, or information requests with market-competitive pricing.
  14. Perform rate analysis for service contracts to determine optimal costs and service levels.
  15. Maintain compliance with internal policies, procedures, and external regulations.
  16. Follow customers' standard operating procedures and keep them updated.
  17. Meet KPI standards as per company procedures.
  18. Ensure effective communication and timely responses to emails and requests.
  19. Take on additional tasks as required to meet departmental needs.
Minimum Requirements
  • Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent.
  • At least 1-2 years of related experience in a similar role.
  • Understanding of transportation documentation and terms is a plus.
  • Proficient in computer skills and MS Office applications.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including listening, comprehension, and clear communication.
  • Proactive with strong organizational skills.
  • Strong desire to learn.
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
