The LDC R&A Manager will execute Novartis' strategy to transform data into a strategic asset, driving actionable insights through analytics. This role contributes to designing the Analytics strategy in alignment with the Enterprise Data Governance Framework, Data Operating Model, and Data Architecture. The manager will develop and implement reporting & analytics capabilities in collaboration with various functions.
Major Accountabilities:
- Collaborate with sites, business partners, and process workstreams to gather and translate user requirements into analytical solutions.
- Conduct fit-gap assessments to identify the best solutions with IT and deployment teams.
- Lead design, build, testing, UAT, and deployment activities, ensuring solutions meet business needs.
- Identify applications requiring retrofitting and coordinate with teams to ensure seamless integration with S4 data.
- Manage change impact analysis and develop training to support business changes.
- Work with IT and PQM teams on business screening, script creation, and documentation.
- Foster innovative ideas and establish governance frameworks to generate business value.
- Build reporting and analytics capabilities based on FAIR data principles to create actionable insights.
- Implement analytics governance and ownership, ensuring alignment across functions.
- Ensure responsible use of analytics, respecting compliance, privacy, and security requirements.
- Develop analytics solutions aligned with data strategy and business needs.
- Document and maintain analytics requirements for critical processes and data elements.
- Collaborate with functional leads to resolve data issues using analytics platforms.
- Build relationships within the analytics community across Novartis to share best practices.
- Engage with Technology teams to leverage platforms and capabilities for LDC Analytics.
- Ensure smooth transition from project to operational support and enhancements.
- Identify dependencies early and propose holistic solutions in collaboration with LDC Reporting & Analytics teams.
Key Performance Indicators: Delivery of milestones on time, within budget, and with stakeholder support.
Education & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher.
Languages: English required; additional languages preferred.
Experience:
- 8+ years in pharmaceutical or related industry, with experience in regional/global roles.
- At least 3 years in reporting and analytics, with successful application deployment.
Competencies:
- Experience in data, reporting, or analytics within complex data landscapes.
- Knowledge of data governance, quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to leverage networks across functions and influence stakeholders.
- Understanding of organizational needs beyond own area.
- Ability to interpret complex data and influence peers.
- Alignment with Novartis values and behaviors.
- Ideally familiar with Agile and data product management methodologies.
