Summary

The LDC R&A Manager will execute Novartis’ ambition to turn data into a strategic asset and drive actionable insights across the organization through analytics. This role supports the broader digital transformation at Novartis, focusing on data and digital capabilities.

This position will contribute to designing the Analytics strategy & framework, aligning with the Enterprise Data Governance Framework, Data Operating Model, and Data Architecture.

As a Manager, the role involves developing Novartis reporting & analytics capabilities in collaboration with various functions and leading implementation within the LDC scope.

About The Role

Major Accountabilities
  1. Collaborate with sites, business partners, and process workstreams to gather requirements and identify the best platform for solutions.
  2. Participate in fit-gap assessments to determine optimal solutions with IT and deployment teams.
  3. Lead design, build, testing, UAT, and deployment activities, ensuring reports and analytics meet requirements.
  4. Identify existing applications needing retrofitting and coordinate with teams to ensure seamless performance with new data systems.
  5. Work with process workstreams to manage change impact and training needs.
  6. Collaborate with IT and PQM teams on business screening, script creation, and documentation.
  7. Nurture ideas from business partners and develop governance frameworks to generate value.
  8. Build reporting and analytics capabilities based on FAIR data principles to drive insights.
  9. Implement analytics principles, governance, ownership, and operations across functions.
  10. Ensure responsible use of analytics, respecting compliance, privacy, and security.
  11. Develop analytics solutions aligned with data strategy and business needs.
  12. Document and maintain analytics requirements for critical processes and data elements.
  13. Work with stakeholders to address data issues through analytics platforms.
  14. Establish relationships within the analytics community across Novartis to share best practices.
  15. Engage with Technology teams to leverage platforms and capabilities for future analytics setup.
  16. Ensure smooth transition from project to operational support and enhancements.
  17. Identify dependencies early and propose holistic solutions in collaboration with teams.
Key Performance Indicators

Successful delivery of milestones on time, within budget, and with stakeholder support.

Education & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher.

Languages

English required; additional languages preferred.

Experience
  • 8 years of commercial/business experience in the pharmaceutical industry, ideally in a country or regional/global role.
  • 3 years’ experience in reporting and analytics, with proven successful applications.
Competencies
  • Experience working with data governance, quality, and regulatory regimes.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to leverage cross-functional networks and understand organizational needs.
  • Proficiency in interpreting complex information and influencing peers.
  • Alignment with Novartis’ values and behaviors.
  • Knowledge of Agile and data product management methodologies is a plus.
