A leading legal firm based in Penang is seeking a Lawyer (Legal Assistant / Salaried Partner) to manage legal documents, draft contracts, and assist senior partners. Ideal candidates should hold a Bachelor's Degree, possess at least 2 years of experience, and demonstrate excellent communication skills. Lawyer (Legal Assistant / Salaried Partner) (Based in Penang)

The candidates who apply for the position shall assume the following responsibilities:

  1. Reporting to senior partner/lawyer of the firm for all aspects of legal works timely;
  2. Taking instructions from clients and implementing promptly;
  3. Preparing legal documents including land matters, bank loans, and other corporate conveyancing matters;
  4. Coordination and monitoring with external lawyers on legal matters;
  5. Vetting, drafting, and providing opinions on contracts, including corporate and commercial agreements such as tenancy agreements, service contracts, and others;
  6. Conducting necessary research and protecting the firm’s interests in all legal matters;
  7. Assisting in ad-hoc assignments as required by senior partners;
  8. Handling other corporate assignments as may be required from time to time;
  9. Willing to travel as required.

Requirements:

  1. Possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree and Professional Degree;
  2. Have excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  3. Possess presentation and negotiation skills;
  4. Be computer literate and proficient in MS Office applications;
  5. Outstanding problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize and complete tasks within deadlines;
  6. Hardworking, strong leadership capabilities, and able to work independently with minimal supervision;
  7. Proficiency in English & Bahasa Malaysia;
  8. Have a pleasant personality and ability to interact with people of all levels;
  9. At least 2 years of relevant work experience;
  10. Full-time position available.
