Job Description: As a Land Transport Manager will oversee and optimize our road freight operations, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and compliant delivery of goods. You will lead a team of drivers and coordinators, manage vendor relationships, and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Operation Management:
Lead the Operation team and communication with internal and external parties and provide effective solutions and advice to the team and customers.
Ensure customer service satisfaction level.
Building customer relationship and the customer’s requirements bonding.
Cost Control:
Negotiate with carriers, manage fuel consumption, and reduce operational costs without compromising service quality.
Liaise with trucking companies, subcontractors, and maintenance providers.
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
Diploma or Degree in Logistics/Transportation/CILT/Business Admin/Supply Chain Management or equivalent
At least 8 years of supply chain experience, preferably in the project logistics/ transport industry.
Strong communication in Mandarin (preferably but not compulsory), English, and Bahasa Malaysia.
Professional Skills:
Extensive experience liaising closely with port authorities and customs - Preferably have good experience in all major ports in Malaysia: Port Klang, PTP (Tanjung Pelepas) Johor and Pasir Gudang port.
Experience with leadership, coaching, mentoring, and providing constructive feedback to freight team members to enhance overall performance. Work and drive land transport team under pressure and sustaining demanding work environments with positive mindset. High attribute in urgency for meeting task deadline.
A strong customer focus and with a strong team ethic.
Tech-Savvy:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Logistics ERP system. Experience working with local port system.
