Job summary

UCSI Education Sdn Bhd. seeks a laboratory support staff to prepare and maintain equipment, materials and work areas for practical classes and routine activities. You will assist lecturers and students during sessions, manage inventory, and ensure compliance with safety procedures.

You will demonstrate techniques, handle hazardous materials safely, and support smooth execution of all laboratory activities. The role may require after-hours work to ensure readiness for classes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up laboratory equipment, glassware, chemicals, reagents, and materials for practical classes and activities.
• Label and prepare samples and materials required for teaching and routine laboratory work.
• Conduct trial runs of practical experiments to ensure procedures and materials are ready before sessions.
• Wash, clean, sterilize, and store laboratory glassware, equipment, and apparatus.
• Ensure laboratory work areas are clean, organized, and ready for use.
• Perform basic maintenance and routine checks on equipment and report faults to the supervisor.
• Record, document and organize experiment data and results.
• Maintain an inventory of laboratory supplies, chemicals, reagents, specimens and equipment.
• Assist in planning and efficient execution of all laboratory classes.
• Demonstrate experimental techniques and operation of equipment to students.

Key responsibilities

Label and prepare samples and materials required for teaching and routine laboratory work

Conduct trial runs of practical experiments to ensure procedures and materials are ready before laboratory sessions

Wash, clean, sterilize, and store laboratory glassware, equipment, and apparatus

Ensure laboratory work areas are clean, organized, and ready for use

Perform basic maintenance and routine checks on laboratory equipment and report any faults or repair requirements to the supervisor

Record, document and organize experiment data and results

Maintain an inventory of laboratory supplies, chemicals, reagents, specimens and equipment

Assist in the planning and efficient execution of all laboratory classes

Demonstrate experimental techniques and the operation of equipment to students
