Lesaffre is opening a position Laboratory Technologist, based in Petaling Jaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This position reports to the Baking Center Manager, APA.

Job Description
  • Ensure the realisation analyses on Yeast and Ingredients Group.
Aims:
  • Setting up of analytical laboratory in accordance with the Group’s standards and to comply with the local regulatory requirements to support testing and analysis of the company products range.
  • To realise the biological, chemical and microbiological analysis of the products within internal and external laboratories.
  • Conducts analysis of products in parallel with the laboratories of Group’s factories in the case of new acquisitions.
  • Performing quality control and quality validations of our products to support commercials and developments’ requests.
  • Implementation and execution of work safety policy and instructions in laboratory at all times.
  • Upholding of analytical standards to assure consistency and accuracy of results.
  • Understanding of various functions in the Baking Center and APA markets.
Job Scopes:
  • Preparing and performing the test protocols developed by the Group and to develop monitoring protocols.
  • Working in tandem with precision test bakers.
  • Understanding the objectives of requests and planning for the experimental design.
  • Registration of samples in the system and planning of the work schedules for testing lab including samples analysis and baking tests.
  • Recording of results in the database and generating reports with interpretation for transmission to the relevant team functions.
  • Supporting the formulator with the results for developing solutions and working in tandem with the precision baker in breadmaking.
  • Housekeeping of the laboratory.
  • Upkeeping and assuring the annual calibration and maintenance of scientific equipment in BC and its records.
  • Proper handling of chemicals and equipment.
  • Setting of laboratory rules and instructions for emergency response.
Administrative and Logistical Management:
  • Receives yeast samples from sales, bakers and technicians.
  • Support yeast samples delivering/couriering to local or overseas requestors.
  • Stock taking and ordering of chemicals and lab consumables.
  • Arrangement of proper chemical waste management with licensed vendor.
  • Generate Purchase Order in SAP when necessary for any lab purchase.
  • Ensure continuity of local licenses/permits for laboratory setup.
Qualifications
  • Diploma/Degree in Food Science/Chemistry or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years experience in laboratory work.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations (handling of food products, chemicals and allergenic products).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and TEAMS.
  • Meticulous and organised.
  • Precision in analytical skills.
  • Accountable and able to work independently and in teamwork.
