GKN Automotive Malaysia seeks a Laboratory Technician to perform quality inspection, metallurgical testing, and dimensional measurement of materials in our manufacturing lab. You will support QC, product audits, and process validation to ensure accurate results.
This role requires a certificate or diploma in engineering or related fields, with 1–2 years of relevant experience and the ability to work independently in a factory setting.

The Laboratory Technician is responsible for quality inspection, metallurgical testing, and dimensional measurement of materials, components, and assemblies in a manufacturing laboratory environment. This role supports quality control (QC), product audits, process validation, and compliance with quality standards to ensure accurate and reliable results.
Perform physical and metallurgical testing, dimensional measurements, and material verification according to laboratory procedures.
Conduct quality inspection, instrument programming, testing, and equipment calibration in line with quality standards.
Support product audits and ensure compliance with product specifications across all manufacturing stages.
Follow and support development of laboratory SOPs, test methods, and measurement procedures.
Ensure compliance with external measurement standards, ISO requirements, and internal QC procedures.
Collect, analyze, and document test data for product/process validation, material approval, and customer requirements.
Prepare test and inspection reports, retain test samples, and maintain proper quality documentation.
Identify issues related to materials, manufacturing processes, or measurement systems and support corrective actions.
Participate in continuous improvement activities within the quality and laboratory function.
Support routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of laboratory and measurement equipment.
Apply health, safety, and laboratory safe working practices at all times.

Experience with tools/gauges management activities.
Understand (MSA) Measurement System Analysis methodology will be an advantage.
