Job description

Job Responsibility

  • Conduct routine laboratory testing on polymer materials according to established procedures and industry standards.
  • Prepare samples for testing, including compounding, molding, and cutting, ensuring accurate representation of the material.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, such as tensile testers, melt flow indexers, and thermal analysis instruments, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
  • Analyze test data using statistical software and generate technical reports summarizing findings and identifying trends.
  • Assist in the development and validation of new test methods and procedures to improve the accuracy and efficiency of laboratory operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all tests performed, including raw data, results, and any deviations from standard procedures.
  • Participate in quality control activities, such as internal audits and proficiency testing, to ensure the reliability of laboratory results.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform minor repairs, escalating more complex issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
  • Collaborate with R&D and production teams to investigate material-related issues and provide technical support.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Polymer Science, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a laboratory setting, specifically within polymer science or material testing.
  • Proficiency in performing laboratory techniques, including sample preparation, instrument operation, and data acquisition.
  • Strong understanding of polymer science principles, material properties, and testing methodologies.
  • Experience in conducting material testing, such as tensile testing, impact testing, and thermal analysis, according to industry standards.
  • Ability to analyze data, interpret results, and generate technical reports summarizing findings and conclusions.
  • Familiarity with quality control procedures and laboratory safety protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, Mandarin, and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong organizational and time-management skills to meet project deadlines.
