Pacific Adhesive Systems (M) Sdn Bhd – Penang

Pacific Adhesive Systems (M) Sdn Bhd is looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our pioneering team at our state‑of‑the‑art Application Development Centre (ADC) in Bayan Lepas, Penang, Malaysia, successfully launched in March 2025! This is a full‑time, on‑site role where you'll be at the forefront of adhesive innovation, directly supporting our global clients and internal projects.

At Pacific Adhesive Systems, we're dedicated to pushing the boundaries of adhesive technology. Our cutting‑edge facility boasts a comprehensive suite of advanced material characterization instruments. You'll have the exciting opportunity to master these tools and apply your expertise to solve real‑world challenges across diverse industries.

What You'll Do:
  • Execute precise material testing and analyses following established standard methods and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure accurate and timely result delivery.
  • Collaborate with Technical Engineers and Managers on result investigation and troubleshooting.
  • Manage and maintain all laboratory assets, ensuring equipment calibration and strict adherence to 5S/housekeeping standards.
  • Develop and update clear technical documentation for test procedures, methods, and changes.
  • Actively participate in initiatives to improve laboratory processes, capacity, and operational flow.
Requirements:
  • A Diploma or higher in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Hands‑on experience with material characterization instruments is highly valued. Experience with techniques such as FTIR, TGA, DSC, TMA, DMA, Rheometer, Viscometer, Die Shear, or Universal Testing Machines (UTM) would be a strong advantage.
  • Prior experience in adhesive application (1‑2 years) or in analytical laboratory is a plus, though fresh graduates eager to learn and grow will also be considered.
  • Strong manual dexterity and enjoyment of hands‑on work as meticulous specimen preparation is a key requirement for reliable testing.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a knack for finding quick and creative solutions to complex situations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • An open‑minded, self‑motivated, results‑oriented, and collaborative approach to teamwork.
