Job Description

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Effectively and competently perform sample pre-treatment or preparation microbiological / chemical analysis.
  • Ensure all activities are in compliance with ISO 17025, SAMM Policy, laboratory’s QA/QC system, and SGS GCSC requirements.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform basic laboratory tests according to approved test methods or procedures.
  • Assist Microbiologists or Chemists in laboratory testing, method development, and QA/QC compliance.
  • Maintain Good Housekeeping and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of sample preparation equipment.
  • Accurately record all raw data or test information in the designated data sheets or logs.
  • Comply with all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations, including the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1996, Factory and Machinery Act 1967, and Environmental Quality Act 1974.
  • Report hazards, risks, near-misses, and incidents via the Crystal system.
  • Meet all Operational Integrity Management System (OIMS) requirements.
  • Uphold SGS HSE policies by practicing good safety behavior and following standard procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by your supervisor or management.
Qualifications

PROFILE

  • Minimum education: SPM in any field.
  • Fresh graduates with a Diploma or Degree in Chemistry or Biological Sciences are welcome to apply.
  • 1-3 years of laboratory experience in related activities is preferred.
  • Good personality and leadership qualities.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Good communication and written skills in English and/or the local language.
