Job summary

A local laboratory firm in Bukit Mertajam is seeking a Laboratory Technician to conduct testing of construction materials, assist in laboratory management, and ensure compliance with standards. The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, be able to work independently, and experience in an ISO/IEC17025 lab is a plus. This is a full-time position offering a salary range of RM 1,700 to RM 2,000 per month, along with various benefits.

Job description

Overview

Conduct field and laboratory testing, inspections, and observations of construction materials including soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic laboratory test as per accordance with approved test method or procedures.
• Assist Laboratory Manager in carrying out laboratory testing, method development and compliance with QA/QC requirement.
• Ensure all relevant raw data or test information are correctly and accurately recorded in the provided raw data sheet or manual logbook.
• Perform testing at laboratory and project sites.
• Support laboratory functions.
• Have knowledge of carrying out the full range of soil & concrete testing works required in construction sites.
• Any ad hoc duties as required by Lab Manager/Superior from time to time.

Requirements

• Can work independently with minimum supervision.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
• Able to interact with local authorities, consultants, contractors, and all level staffs.
• Experience of working in ISO/IEC17025 Accredited Lab will be at advantage.

Working Hours/Days: Monday to Friday – 8.30am - 5.30pm; Alternate Saturday – 8.30am – 12.30pm.
