Job description

Job Description:

The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) platform @ IMCB is seeking a highly motivated and committed Laboratory Officer to support our preclinical imaging research initiatives. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn and support MRI operations, as well as work with Spinaligner, the state-of-the-art cutting-edge hyperpolarisation tool, to explore novel probes for disease diagnosis and drug discovery using both in vitro and in vivo models.

This role offers on-the-job training and mentorship within a collaborative and dynamic research environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the operation and maintenance of MRI and Spinaligner systems.
  • Perform routine cell culture for in vitro imaging experiments.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support, including lab inventory management, equipment maintenance, and adherence to laboratory safety protocols.
  • Participate in animal handling and support imaging procedures as required.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Radiography, or a related discipline.
  • Strong interest and openness to learning new technologies and techniques.
  • Comfortable working in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work with laboratory animals; prior experience is advantageous.
  • Must not have any medical or metal implants (due to MRI safety requirements).
  • Responsible, detail-oriented, and able to maintain consistency in routine laboratory tasks with an eagerness to improve productivity and technical workflows.
