Job summary

A leading global inspection company in Port Klang, Malaysia, is seeking a Laboratory Technician responsible for sample preparation, equipment maintenance, and adherence to health and safety standards. Candidates should have at least 1 year of laboratory experience and a minimum education of SPM or STPM. This position offers a competitive monthly salary between MYR 1700 and MYR 2000.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of laboratory sample preparation experience.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols.
  • Competence in basic physical laboratory tests.

Responsibilities

  • Follow instructions and operational procedures for sample preparation.
  • Conduct fire assays for exploration samples.
  • Update supervisors on daily operations and issues.

Job Description

· Responsible for following detailed instruction provided by the superior of their section and operational/standard procedures competently on the sample preparation activity.

· To perform and understand Sample preparation for Minerals, Coal/Biomass, Fertilizers and other commodities.

· To conduct fire assay for exploration sample

· Update equipment and maintenance records.

· Update superior on daily basis for operation and any problems encountered during work task and take preventive measures.

· Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment and other apparatus needed in the work task.

· Ensure necessary data are correct & organized.

· Perform basic physical laboratory test as per accordance with approved test method or procedures.

· Practice good housekeeping in work area.

· Ensure that all Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) / Operational Integrity requirements are met.

· Ensure Good Housekeeping and Good Laboratory practice in workplace.

· Make sure all relevant raw data or test information to be correctly and accurately recorded in the provided raw data sheet or manual log book.

· Adherence to SGS Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Policy by uphold a good safety behavior and

exercising necessary standard and process when carry out your responsibilities at all times to ensure compliance to the HSE requirements.

· Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by your reporting manager and/or Senior Management

Qualifications

· Minimum SPM, STPM background education.

· Minimum 1 years’ laboratory sample preparation experience.
