About the role

China Communications Construction Company (M) Sdn Bhd in Kuching, Sarawak is seeking a talented Lab/Test Engineer to join their team. In this full-time position, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of the company's construction projects through rigorous testing and analysis.

What you'll be doing

3–5 years of experience in material testing and inspection for construction projects

Familiar with standard testing procedures and equipment for concrete, steel reinforcement, and geotechnical materials

Knowledgeable in on-site inspection processes and capable of analyzing test reports

Conducting laboratory tests and analyses on construction materials and components to ensure they meet industry standards and specifications

Performing on-site inspections and monitoring of construction activities to identify and address quality issues

Documenting test results and generating detailed reports for stakeholders

Collaborating with project managers and other team members to develop and implement quality assurance and control protocols

Staying up-to-date with the latest construction industry regulations, standards, and best practices

Providing technical guidance and training to construction staff on quality control procedures

What we're looking for

Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field

Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar lab/test engineer role within the construction industry

Strong understanding of construction materials, testing methods, and quality control principles

Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills

Proficient in using relevant software and equipment for testing and analysis

Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams

Adaptable to changing priorities and able to work under tight deadlines
