Lab Technician (Road Construction)

We are seeking a skilled Lab Technician specializing in road construction materials testing to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting laboratory and field tests on construction materials (e.g., asphalt, concrete, soil, aggregates) to ensure compliance with JKR, ASTM, AASHTO, and other relevant standards. You will work closely with engineers and project teams to maintain quality control and support road construction site projects in Sebuyau, Sarawak.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform laboratory tests on construction materials (e.g., compaction, sieve analysis, Marshall stability, CBR, bitumen content).
2. Conduct field tests at construction sites to monitor material quality.
3. Prepare and analyze test reports, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
4. Maintain and calibrate lab equipment to ensure accuracy.
5. Assist in troubleshooting material-related issues on-site.
6. Ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations.

Job Qualifications:

1. Diploma / Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, or a related field.
2. Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a road construction materials testing lab (fresh graduates with relevant training may be considered).
3. Familiarity with JKR, ASTM, AASHTO, and BS standards for road materials.
4. Hands-on experience with lab equipment (e.g., Marshall apparatus, CBR machine, sieve shaker).
5. Ability to work in both lab and field environments.
6. Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
7. Willingness to relocate to Sebuyau, Sarawak.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Certification in Construction Materials Testing (CMT) or Road Works Supervision (RWS).
2. Experience with JKR projects in Malaysia.
