A leading chemical company in Malaysia seeks a laboratory technician to ensure safe laboratory activities, conduct inspections and analysis, and maintain quality records. The ideal candidate should have a diploma in a related field, 1 year of laboratory experience, and be able to work in shifts. Knowledge of SAP and LIMS is an advantage. This role requires safety consciousness, attention to detail, and teamwork spirit.
Ensure daily laboratory activities is carried out in safe manner, and follow all the standard operating procedure, rules and regulation.
Carry out all inspection and analysis for incoming material, in-process material, final product and other additional samples according to Quality Control Plan, standard test method. Provide test result / test report in timely and accurate manner.
Perform instrument verification/calibration according to plan and ensure proper upkeep of all instruments. Perform inspection on instrument calibration status routinely and report to Superior when instrument found faulty or calibration is due.
Carry out necessary sampling as per work requirement, both internally and from external storage.
Ensure all retained samples are being kept properly and maintain in LIMS system.
Ensure proper maintenance of all quality records, both physical records and records maintain in software system (e.g., instrument, SAP, LIMS, etc.)
Ensure all lab consumables, gas cylinders and chemicals stock sufficient for routine operation, and alert for reorder when stock depleted.
Conduct storage tank and road tanker / ISO tanker inspection when required.
Maintain good housekeeping and cleanliness in laboratory at all times. While glassware cleaning may not be the core responsibilities, Job holder shall carry out glassware cleaning in the absent of Cleaner.
Ensure compliance to all applicable rules & regulation, legal compliance and company policy (e.g.,Occupational Safety & Health Act 1994 and Regulations, Environmental Quality Act 1974, Factory & Machinery Act 1967, Poison Act 1952 & Regulations, etc.)
To perform other related duties assigned or requested by the Management from time to time.
Job Success Requirements:
Minimum SPM with credit in Science and Mathematics. Diploma in related field preferred.
Minimum 1 year working experience in laboratory is preferred.
Able to work in shifts. (3 shifts)
Knowledge in computer will be an added advantage.
Exposure to ISO 9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 and GMP/HACCP will be an added advantage.
Mature and independent, safety consciousness, eyes for details and accuracy, teamwork spirit,self-discipline, willingness to learn and hardworking.
