Job summary

VAT Group AG in Penang, Malaysia invites a Lab Engineer to manage test setups, perform technical analyses and communicate outcomes to stakeholders. You will work closely with Switzerland teams to achieve test goals and KPIs, while developing documentation and processes for ongoing improvements.

You will also mentor new staff, support design and quality teams, and contribute to lab projects, ensuring efficient operation and knowledge transfer across sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering with CGPA 3.20 or
• Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering with min. 3 years of experience in semiconductor related industries.

Responsibilities

• Execute Test Order for product qualification or evaluation including hardware test setup, technical analysis and documentation.
• Lead test lab projects including product development, verification, test method improvement and cost saving activities.
• Troubleshoot product and test setup with in-depth analysis of observations, findings and root causes.
• Provide direct support to Design/Development Engineers, Product/Project Managers and Quality Team on reported cases.
• Deliver test updates through effective communications to stakeholders.
• Collaborate between Malaysia and Switzerland Test Labs.
• Train and mentor new employees with technical guides on products introduction and testing capacity.
• Track system health and perform updates when necessary.
• Perform other tasks assigned by management.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering with CGPA 3.20

Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering with min. 3 years semiconductor experience
