Cloud EngineerJob title: L3 Cloud Engineer (EMEA Hours Permanently)

Location: Malaysia

The role:

As a L3 Cloud Engineer, you will help drive our goals by:

  1. Strong understanding of Azure cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), resource management, and pricing models, primarily focused on Cloud FinOps, with expertise in Azure cloud cost management and optimization.
  2. Administer and manage JMIT public cloud subscriptions (AWS & Azure), including hardware upgrades, software updates, and server migrations.
  3. Collaborate with and support wider I&O teams to ensure critical services such as backup, network, security, and software distribution function properly across JM platforms.
  4. Monitor and support global platforms, ensuring maintenance (software, hardware) and licenses are in line with Johnson Matthey SACM standards.
  5. Participate in the CDC on-call rota, handle 3rd line incident troubleshooting and resolution, fulfill service requests, and act as an escalation point for the 2nd line Cloud Ops team.
  6. Proficiency in Azure Cost Management and Azure Advisor tools for cost optimization.
Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:
  • Able to work permanently EMEA Hours
  • Deep knowledge of configuring, deploying, and maintaining Azure compute services (VM deployment, OS installation, maintenance, restoration, HA setup)
  • Experience with deploying, configuring, and maintaining Azure Virtual Desktop, Availability Sets, and DR via Terraform
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Virtual Networks (DNS, VPN, VNet, NSG, Firewall) and Azure Storage solutions (Blob, File Share, Storage accounts)
  • Experience with Web Apps, App Gateway, App Services, Azure Blueprints, Policies, and ARM templates
  • Familiarity with monitoring and log analysis tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Metrics, Network Watcher, and App Insights
