Conducting comprehensive KYC and EDD assessments on new and existing customers, including individuals, corporates and beneficial owners
Analysing customer information, financial documentation and transaction patterns to identify potential risks and suspicious activities
Preparing detailed due diligence reports and risk assessments based on findings from customer investigations
Verifying customer identities and addresses through appropriate documentation and third-party sources
Assessing the source of funds and source of wealth for high-risk customers and politically exposed persons (PEPs)
Monitoring ongoing customer relationships and identifying changes in risk profiles that may require updated due diligence
Liaising with business units and external parties to gather additional information required for due diligence purposes
Maintaining accurate and comprehensive documentation of all KYC and EDD procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements
Staying current with regulatory updates, guidelines and best practices in compliance and anti-money laundering
Supporting the compliance team in audit queries, regulatory examinations and internal investigations as required
To reinforce AML Compliance culture in the Bank and provide training to first line of defense's understanding of relevant laws and regulatory requirements.
Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related discipline
A minimum of 5 years' experience in KYC, AML compliance, due diligence or related compliance roles within the banking or financial services sector
Strong knowledge of Malaysian banking regulations, Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) guidelines and international AML/CFT standards
Proficiency in conducting customer due diligence investigations and risk assessments
Excellent attention to detail and ability to analyse complex financial and corporate information
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Mandarin is advantageous
Proficiency with compliance systems and databases; experience with KYC software platforms is preferred
Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
Professional certifications such as Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or Certified Compliance Professional (CCP) are highly desirable
Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality, integrity and ethical conduct in handling sensitive information
