Job description

This position aims to support Sika Malaysia in achieving its growth and profitability targets by leveraging Sika’s product range and resources. The role is crucial in identifying, understanding, and acting on major Key Projects throughout Malaysia.

  1. Define key projects with the Head of KPM, following global guidelines and with support from the GM.
  2. Gather comprehensive information about these projects, including all parties involved.
  3. Identify Sika opportunities within each project, utilizing the Sika KPM full system solutions approach.
  4. Prepare technical proposals for potential solutions with the assistance of the spec team and KPM team.
  5. Collaborate with TMMs/BDMs and RSMs to develop activity plans for these accounts/projects, ensuring alignment on objectives and potential.
  6. Work specifically with RSMs to accurately define project potential and pipeline (quantity survey) throughout the project lifecycle.
  7. Set realistic and achievable targets and objectives with clear timelines, in coordination with TMMs/BDMs & RSMs.
  8. Coordinate the Code 1 product approval process with the sales team.
  9. Support activities by identifying key players and assisting in meetings and influencing these stakeholders, as requested by the KPM Head and/or GM.
  10. Monitor, coach, and report on selected accounts/projects and targets using tools like Salesforce.
  11. Develop project profiles and reference data as they become available.
  12. Provide constructive feedback to GM, TMMs, BDMs, and RSMs regarding reasons for success or failure, filtered through the Head of KPM.
  13. Collaborate with Marketing to prepare a project reference list, including details such as name, location, images, construction value, project managers, Sika representatives, product list with sales data, dates, and key success factors, tied to the KPM full system solutions approach.
  14. Communicate activities and progress to the Head of KPM and, when necessary, to regional/global Key Project Managers as projects become more active.
  15. Perform other tasks as assigned by the Head of KPM or General Manager.
Your expertise - Our strength
  • A degree in any discipline, preferably Engineering.
  • An MBA is advantageous.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar industry.
  • Understanding of the product range of a construction chemical supplier is essential.
  • Ability to identify project opportunities and convincingly present them to customers.
  • Excellent computer skills, including PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, leadership, and management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English; proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and/or Mandarin is advantageous.
