Job summary

Swan Garden Hotel Melaka is seeking a hardworking Steward to join our kitchen operations. You will maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and service areas, and ensure all utensils and equipment are properly cleaned and stored.

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced hotel environment, good personal hygiene, punctuality, teamwork, and willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Steward or in a hotel/restaurant environment is an advantage.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Good personal hygiene and a positive working attitude.
• Responsible, punctual, and able to work well in a team.
• Willing to work on shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Fresh graduates or candidates with no prior experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Wash and clean all kitchen utensils, crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, and equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, dishwashing area, and designated work areas.
• Ensure all kitchen equipment and utensils are cleaned, sanitized, and stored properly.
• Assist in maintaining proper hygiene and sanitation standards in accordance with hotel requirements.
• Collect, segregate, and dispose of waste properly.
• Assist the Kitchen team with basic cleaning and operational duties when required.
• Ensure cleaning chemicals and equipment are used safely and appropriately.
• Report any damaged equipment, maintenance issues, or hygiene concerns to the Supervisor.
• Follow all hotel policies, safety procedures, and food hygiene requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or HOD.
