Job description

Key Account Manager – Education Sector (Networking & Connectivity)

Role Overview

As a Key Account Manager for the Education Sector, you will drive business growth by identifying, developing, and managing relationships with key stakeholders from the Ministry of Education (MOE), Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), and private universities and colleges. Your core focus will be to promote and deliver Wi-Fi infrastructure, networking equipment, firewalls, fibre connectivity, and internal cabling solutions tailored to the education segment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Build and manage strategic relationships with MOE, MOHE, and key decision-makers in public and private universities
  2. Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the education sector
  3. Lead solution proposals involving campus-wide Wi-Fi, switches, firewalls, network cabling, and fibre connectivity
  4. Drive project engagements including tender participation, proposal development, and project presentations
  5. Collaborate with internal engineering and technical teams to ensure solutions meet client expectations
  6. Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and ensure post-sales relationship continuity
  7. Monitor and report on account performance, market trends, and competitor activities
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, Networking, Telecommunications, or a related field
  2. At least 3–5 years of experience in sales or account management within the ICT, networking, or systems integration space
  3. Familiarity with public sector procurement processes and government-linked project cycles
  4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia
  5. Ability to travel frequently for client engagements, site surveys, and project follow-ups
